For anyone who's interested a short overview of how we did it...

First of all the script was written and the storyboard was drawn. Each cut and each camera angle had to be clearly defined. A list of needed characters and sets was created.

With the storyboard finished the characters and backgrounds were drawn in Macromedia Freehand. Then each scene was animated seperately in Macromedia Flash.

Before we could start with the animations we had to have all audio ready because we wanted to create the animations depending on the final soundfiles. For audio-editing we used ProTools and SonicFoundry Soundforge.

As soon as we had a scene completed it was exported from Flash as image sequence and re-imported into Avid Xpress for editing. In Avid we had to arrange audio and video again as all audio-synchronization was lost with the export as image sequence.
